System installation failed with error message: There is no disk selected. I can only select “eMMC” or “Disk”, with no option to choose “SSD”.
If the original drive is SATA‑type, you do need to change the drive type before starting system installation. The default “SSD” option corresponds to NVMe PCIe drives; you will need to switch it to “Disk”.
Drive failure generally only occurs after the device has been in use for one year or longer. We recommend opening the chassis, removing and re‑seating the SSD, then attempting system reinstallation again.
The first‑time installation failure caused by incorrect drive type is normal. The installer cannot locate a matching drive and returns the error “There is no disk selected”.
After the failure prompt, change the installation drive type to “Disk”, manually select format, and restart the installation:
- Check FormatDiskonly to format the drive
- Apply settings. All data on the target drive will be erased.
- Uncheck FormatDiskonly, then check OneKeyRecovery in the installer
Apply settings; the device will start system installation.
