Boot Issues
Q1. My pc is not working /my mini pc died /It will no longer power back on/ my pc won't start
- Check the status of the power button LED after powering on: Does the power button light stay on? Are there any other LEDs lit or is the fan running? If the light does not stay on, the internal power supply hardware of the device is most likely damaged.
After reconnecting the power and restarting, does the GEEKOM logo appear during boot? If the screen goes black right after showing the logo, refer to this article:
https://help.geekompc.com/hc/en-us/articles/14600717878415-Power-on-with-no-display
If the monitor shows no response, make sure the power adapter is connected properly. Try using another adapter of the same specification to rule out an adapter fault. Also try plugging into a different power outlet to rule out outlet issues.

Display Issues
Q1. How to connect a wireless display to the computer?
There are several solutions to wirelessly connect your GEEKOM computer to a display, depending on the technologies supported by your computer:
1. Wireless displays supporting Miracast or Wi‑Fi Direct: Some portable displays can connect directly to the computer via Wi‑Fi, just like a regular monitor but wirelessly.
2. Wireless HDMI adapter: A common solution is to use a Miracast or wireless HDMI transmitter plugged into a regular monitor, allowing the computer to transmit the screen via Wi‑Fi.
For reference: Microsoft support
Q2. Is there a cable or adapter that allows me to connect from a USB‑C output port to an HDMI or DisplayPort input port?
- Cable Requirements:
- The USB‑C port on the signal output side must support DP Alt Mode.
- HDMI cable should match the appropriate version (HDMI 2.0 / 2.1) to support high resolution and refresh rate.
- DisplayPort cable should support DP 1.4 / 2.0 or higher.
-
Connection:
Connect the USB‑C end to your device, and plug the other end into the HDMI or DisplayPort port on your monitor.
Turn on your monitor and select the correct input source (HDMI or DisplayPort).

If the BIOS update still fails after restoration, please do not perform any further operations and continue using the device normally.
Q8. I enabled Secure Boot in the BIOS, but the line underneath shows as ‘Not active’. It still shows in Windows as ‘secure boot state OFF’.
Q9. "invalid signature detected, check Secure Boot policy in setup"
SSD & RAM Issues
Q1. I clearly set the UMA buffer size to 512MB, but 4GB of memory is still being used. Is this normal?
1. UMA buffer ≠ Total memory occupied by integrated graphics
What you set in BIOS: UMA Frame Buffer Size = 512MB is only the minimum video memory permanently allocated to the integrated graphics. However, AMD Ryzen series (R7-8845HS / R9-8945HS) uses a dynamic video memory allocation mechanism
The system will: reserve 512MB permanently for integrated graphics, then dynamically borrow about 3.5GB as "flexible video memory" for the integrated graphics, resulting in a total display of 4GB occupied by integrated graphics.
This is the default, normal, and necessary behavior of the AMD platform.
2. Can it be changed to only occupy 512MB?
No. AMD Ryzen series must occupy about 4GB to properly run video decoding, multi-monitor output, 3D acceleration, and desktop rendering.
You cannot modify this dynamic allocation, and there is no option to disable it in BIOS.
Q2. How to reseat RAM/SSD
Completely power off the device and unplug the power cable, open the bottom cover (warranty remains valid), locate the RAM/SSD slot, and reseat them. You can refer to the following article to find where the RAM and SSD are located.
https://help.geekompc.com/hc/en-us/articles/10985617802127-RAM-SSD-HDD-Upgrade-Tutorial
Q3. Can I use 10TB of storage space on IT13?
Modern CPUs have no hard capacity limit on SSDs, and SSDs/HDDs with capacities of 10TB, 20TB, or even larger can be normally recognized and used. However, please note whether the machine's slots match the hard drive type. You can refer to the machine's parameter documentation:
Audio Issues
Q1. Speaker malfunction / No sound from the speakers
The pc does not include built-in speaker hardware, so it cannot have speaker-related hardware failures.
Audio should be played through external devices (speakers, monitor speakers). If there is an issue with the sound, the problem is most likely related to software settings.
Possible causes:
1. Loose connection or cable/port issues
- Unplug and firmly reconnect the cables of your speaker device. - For Bluetooth speakers: re-pair the device (Settings Bluetooth Remove device Add again).
2. System volume settings or switched default output device - Windows sometimes automatically switches the default playback device (for example, it does not switch back to speakers after headphones are unplugged).
- An application in the Volume Mixer is muted, or the overall volume is turned down.
- Troubleshooting: Right-click the volume icon Sound settings Output device, and make sure your external speaker is selected (not internal speakers or HDMI).
3. Audio driver or service issues Conflicts may occur after Windows updates, or there may be bugs in Realtek or other audio drivers.
- Update your graphics driver using the Driver Install Assistant provided on AMD’s official website. Graphics drivers include audio drivers, which can effectively reset the audio settings.

Peripheral Device
Q1. The wireless keyboard and mouse are not working. What should I do?
1. Plug in the USB receiver properly
Check if the receiver under the mouse has been taken out and plugged into the computer's USB port.
2. Check batteries / charging
If the batteries are dead, replace them with a new pair of batteries.
3. Check if the switch is turned on
There is usually an ON/OFF switch at the bottom of the keyboard/mouse, toggle it to ON.
4. Change the USB port position
Replace the port of the USB receiver to see if the port is faulty.
5. Restart the computer
Simple but effective, to rule out system driver crashes.
Q2. The power adapter is not working. I have tested it the device itself runs normally.
If it is confirmed that the power adapter is faulty and your order is still within the warranty period, you can contact our customer support team to arrange a replacement for a new power adapter.
Q3. My computer has a blue screen with the message "Your PC Did Not Start Correctly", and the mouse seems unresponsive on this screen.
"Your PC Did Not Start Correctly" means your computer has entered recovery mode. WinRE is a minimal recovery environment that only loads the most essential drivers (such as those for hard drives, USB devices, and displays). Bluetooth drivers are not loaded by default, so Bluetooth mice and keyboards are not supported.
You can use a wired USB mouse/keyboard or a 2.4G wireless mouse/keyboard (with a USB receiver) to operate.
Q4. What is the VESA mount size and specification?

Q6. The pc is working extremely slowly. Its taking 15 minutes to get from switch on to the Windows screen and a further 15 minutes to get to the Desktop screen.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Software Level
Hardware Level
- SSD Failure: This is the most common cause. If the SSD has bad sectors or is nearing failure, reading system files will become extremely slow.
- RAM Issues: Poor contact or faulty memory will cause the system to frequently use virtual memory.
Troubleshooting Steps
-
Disconnect all external devices: Unplug all USB peripherals except the monitor, keyboard and mouse (such as portable hard drives, printers, etc.), then restart your computer.
-
Enter Safe Mode: Try to boot into Windows Safe Mode. If the system runs smoothly in Safe Mode, the problem is caused by conflicting third-party software or drivers.
-
Check SSD health: If you can access the desktop, download tools such as CrystalDiskInfo to check the health status of your solid-state drive.
-
Reset BIOS: Repeatedly press the Del key during startup to enter BIOS, select Load Optimal Defaults, save the settings and exit.
- Hardware self-inspection: If the above methods do not work, it is recommended to re-seat the RAM sticks and SSD.
Q7. When logging in, it prompts that the login option has been disabled due to multiple failed login attempts. I have waited for 3 hours but still cannot log in.
1. First, Stop Trying Repeatedly
Every failed attempt can reset the lockout timer and extend your wait. This may be why you're still locked out after 3 hours.
2. Check for an Alternative Sign-In Method
Look at your login screen for other options:
Password (instead of PIN)
Other user accounts on the device
If a password option is available and you know it, use that to log in immediately. Once logged in, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options to reset your PIN for next time.
3. Keep Your Device Powered On and Connected
Leave your laptop or computer turned on and connected to the internet during the waiting period. The system needs to remain active to properly reset the security counter.
4. After Waiting (Full 24 Hours Recommended)
If you still cannot log in after waiting 24 hours without attempting any sign-ins:
For a Microsoft Account (online account): Visit https://account.live.com/password/reset to go through the official account recovery process
For a Local Account (offline account): You may need to wait up to 24 hours, or consider using recovery media or reset options

Q9. The two wires attached to inner cover were not attached to anything. Is that normal?
These two cables you see are the antenna wires for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
When removing the internal protective cover, the antenna cables are quite short, so they can easily get pulled off or detached accidentally from the Wi-Fi card on the motherboard.
If these two cables are not properly connected, your computer will fail to connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth normally, or the signal will become extremely weak.
You may follow the steps below to reconnect them:
- The end of the antenna cable is a small, round connector (U.FL/IPEX connector), which mates with a corresponding small, golden, raised socket (contact pin) on the WiFi card.
- Vertical Alignment: Align the connector directly above the socket (do not tilt it! Tilting can cause damage).
- Gentle Pressing: Use the tip of tweezers or a finger to press down evenly until a faint click is heard (indicating the snap-fit has locked).
- Verification: Gently tug the cable (horizontally). It should not come off easily (but do not pull hard!).
- If two antennas are dislodged, they should generally be reconnected to their corresponding color-coded sockets——Gray (AUX) / Black (Main).
Q10. The mini PC suddenly made a popping sound and broke down out of the blue yesterday, with a slight burnt smell coming from it.
