The customer’s Kingston SSD cannot be detected by Kingston SSD Manager on his device. Unable to locate this SSD model on Kingston’s official website, he suspects it is an OEM SSD. He is asking what steps he can take for the SSD to be recognized and whether Kingston SSD Manager requires an internet connection.
Our SSDs are custom OEM models. Even though they carry the Kingston brand, OEM customized SSDs differ from retail consumer versions, typically in firmware and identification information. Kingston SSD Manager is designed for customers who purchase retail products. If the drive works normally within Windows but is simply not recognized by KSM, this is considered a software compatibility limitation rather than an SSD failure.
