| Symptom | Go to |
|---|---|
| Power indicator light is completely off, device does nothing when power button is pressed | Branch A |
| Power light is on but screen stays black | Branch B |
| Device powers on but gets stuck on startup screen or GEEKOM logo | Branch C |
| Fan spins briefly then device shuts off immediately | Branch D |
| Power light on, fan running, but no display output and no POST — all basic steps already tried | Branch D → No POST after full troubleshooting |
| Power button unresponsive or requires multiple presses to start | Branch A → Unresponsive power button |
| Device randomly loses power or shuts down during use | Branch D → Intermittent power loss |
Branch A: Power Supply Issue
Power indicator light is completely off.
Check the power adapter
Confirm you are using the original GEEKOM power adapter that came with the device. Third-party adapters — even those with matching voltage ratings — may not deliver sufficient wattage for the Mini PC to start. If you have a replacement adapter available, test with it.
Also inspect the DC barrel connector where the adapter plugs into the Mini PC. Bent or damaged pins will prevent power delivery even if the adapter itself is working.
Check the power cable and wall outlet
Try a different wall outlet to rule out a dead socket. If you replaced the fuse or plug and the device still does not power on, the issue is likely not the cable — proceed to the next step.
Unresponsive power button — force discharge
- Disconnect the power adapter from the Mini PC.
- Remove all external devices: USB drives, monitors, docking stations, external hard drives.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to fully discharge residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try turning on again.
If the power button requires multiple presses before the device stays on, or is intermittently unresponsive, this is a known symptom of a failing power management circuit — proceed to the Final Recommendation below.
Branch B: Display Issue
Power light is on, fans spin, but screen stays black.
- Check both ends of the HDMI or DisplayPort cable — reseat firmly or try a different cable.
- Confirm the monitor is set to the correct input source.
- If the Mini PC has multiple video output ports, try a different port.
- Try connecting to a completely different monitor to rule out a display hardware problem.
Branch C: System Startup Issue
Device powers on and shows a display, but is stuck on the startup screen or GEEKOM logo.
Reset BIOS to defaults
- Remove all external devices, then restart.
- Repeatedly press Del during startup to enter BIOS.
- Select Load Optimized Defaults.
- Press F4 to save and exit.
Disable Fast Startup (common fix for startup failures)
- Press Win + R → type control → open Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" → Save changes.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
powercfg /h off - Restart and test.
Reseat RAM and SSD
Power off the device, open the bottom cover, and firmly reseat the RAM module and SSD. A loose RAM module or SSD is a common cause of startup failures, especially after shipping or a power event.
Repair system files
If the device boots into Windows but behaves abnormally, open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
sfc /scannow DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If the system cannot boot at all, a clean Windows reinstall may be required. See: How to reinstall Windows.
Branch D: Overheating, Intermittent Power Loss, or Hardware Fault
Fan spins briefly then device shuts off, device randomly loses power during use, or power light and fan are active but there is no display output.
Check ventilation
Turn off the Mini PC and let it cool for 10 minutes. Ensure the ventilation openings on the sides and bottom are not blocked. Clean dust from the fan and vents using compressed air if needed.
Intermittent power loss during use
If the device starts normally but randomly shuts down or loses power during use — especially under load — this is a known symptom reported across multiple models (IT11, A5 Pro, Air11). Common causes include:
- Failing power management circuit on the motherboard
- Loose internal power connector (reseat by opening the bottom cover)
- Overheating triggering thermal shutdown
Try: power off → disconnect adapter → hold power button 15 seconds → reconnect → restart. If the issue recurs, this is likely a hardware fault requiring warranty service.
No POST after completing all troubleshooting steps
If the power indicator light is on and the fan is running, but there is no display output and no POST (no BIOS screen, no GEEKOM logo) after completing all steps in Branch A, B, and C — including RAM/SSD reseating, CMOS reset, BIOS reset, display cable and monitor testing — this confirms an internal hardware failure.
Stop further DIY troubleshooting at this point. Additional attempts (repeated power cycles, further disassembly) may cause additional damage and complicate the warranty repair. The most likely cause is a failed motherboard or power management circuit, which requires professional service.
A brief power outage or surge before the issue started is consistent with surge-related component damage, which is covered under the GEEKOM 3-year warranty.
Contact GEEKOM Customer Service immediately and provide:
- Serial number (on the bottom label of the device)
- Order number or proof of purchase
- Country/region (for shipping arrangements)
- Description of the symptom and all steps already attempted
Final Recommendation
If none of the above branches resolve the issue, contact GEEKOM Customer Service and provide:
- Product model and serial number
- Order number or proof of purchase
- Description of the symptom (which branch above matches your situation)
- Steps already attempted
If your device is within the 3-year warranty period, GEEKOM will arrange repair or replacement. Warranty shipping costs vary by region — confirm with the support team when you contact them.
