When a new computer is first turned on and enters the OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience) interface, it often requires an internet connection and forces a Microsoft account login, causing it to get stuck or have long wait times. This tutorial teaches you how to use shortcut keys and commands to directly create a local account, bypassing Microsoft account login and some update steps, greatly saving time.
Applicable System: Windows 11
Advantages: No internet connection needed, no Microsoft account required, simple operation, completed in minutes.
Note:
1. It is recommended to disconnect from the network (unplug Ethernet or turn off Wi-Fi) before operation for higher success rate.
2. This tutorial includes both video and text instructions, both can be used as references.
3. After entering the system through the local account, you can still try to log in with your personal Microsoft account when using GEEKOM devices.

1. Select Language and Keyboard on the OOBE Screen
If you enter the system desktop without selecting language and keyboard, the system will default to English language and keyboard, so this step is very important.
- Choose language and region according to personal preference.
- Select keyboard layout.
2. Enter OOBE Screen and Open Command Prompt
When you see the "Let's connect you to a network" or "Sign in with Microsoft" screen, do not connect to the internet. If you have already connected and proceeded to other steps, you can still continue.
- Press Shift + F10 on the keyboard (on laptops, you may need Shift + Fn + F10). A black Command Prompt (CMD) window will pop up.
3. Enter Command to Jump to Local Account Creation Page
In the CMD window, type the following command completely and press Enter:start ms-cxh:localonly
- After entering, the CMD window may minimize or disappear, and the system will pop up the traditional local account creation window (similar to Windows 10 style).
4. Create Local Account
1. Enter username
2. Set password (can be left blank, but a strong password is recommended)
3. Confirm password
4. Click Next
5. Complete Remaining Settings
Continue to follow the on-screen prompts to set region, keyboard, privacy options, etc.
The system will skip Microsoft account login and go directly to the desktop.
After entering the desktop for the first time, it is recommended to connect to the internet and then check Settings — System — Activation — Check Activation Status, and check for necessary drivers and updates.
