1. If I want to power the A7 Max via its USB4 port, what specifications are required for the power adapter?
Please provide:
Required Voltage (V)
Required Current (A)
Required Power (W)
2.Dock Compatibility
Which docking stations are compatible with the A7 Max?
3.USB-C Hub
Additionally, could you recommend a simple USB-C Hub with Power Passthrough (PD power delivery) that can supply power to the A7 Max?
This USB Hub only needs to feature:
1 × HDMI port
1 × USB-C port for power input
Power requirements via USB4
The A7 Max comes with two USB4 ports. Only the USB4 port next to the power jack supports PD power input.
You need a PD 3.0 adapter rated for 100W (20V 5A). More importantly, the adapter must sustain continuous 100W output without power throttling caused by overheating.
Dock Compatibility
We have not carried out targeted testing on specific docking station models, so we cannot provide model recommendations. However, we have tested ASUS docking stations with other GEEKOM models and achieved normal operation.
Important note: The USB4 port on the A7 Max can only output 15W power. Most docking stations require far more power than this.
Therefore, apart from connecting the dock to the A7 Max via USB4, you will need to connect an extra power cable to the dock (if available) to guarantee normal output power. Otherwise, connected peripherals may fail to be recognized.
Simple USB-C Hub recommendation
We are unable to recommend specific products. There are many such hubs on the market. We suggest choosing well-known brands.
The most critical requirement is stable continuous 100W (20V 5A) output without thermal throttling. All other ports just need to comply with standard specifications.
